Policy
Booking/Payment:
- Half payment (as deposit) must be received to reserve time booked.
- FULL PAYMENT must be received before any files or a final master are handed over.
- A fee of $10 per week (every week) after 30 days unpaid, will be applied to your account until payment is received.
Cancellations:
- With more than 72 hour notice - No charge applies. (deposits refunded)
- Without 24 Hour Notice -A full charge for time booked will be applied to your account. (only death, disfigurement, and serious illness outweigh this rule... not because you don't have enough practice!)
We cannot be expected to book a replacement (makeup the loss in income) in less than 72 hours, so please don't cancel!
Rights and Property:
- All recorded works belong to the creative artist or paying party once FULL PAYMENT is received (unless otherwise contracted by SCS and the creative artist.)
- SCS reserves the right to withhold all recorded works (and rights thereto) until FULL PAYMENT has been received
- Artist is solely responsible for obtaining mechanical licenses & sample clearances for recorded works done at SCS. (We cannot be held responsible for any riffs, beats or samples you steal.)
Rental Items:
- All Items for rent at SCS, whether to remain in house or for travel, must be returned in the SAME CONDITION as when rented. If upon return, Item(s) are found to be in lesser shape or missing, the party renting is responsible for ALL COSTS of repairing or replacing the item(s).
- A session begins at the time the client booked it for, whether they are present or not, and continues until the booked time ends. (unless time is extended/shortened by SCS Crew)
- Day lockout bookings are mandatory if gear is to be left set up or if mixes are to be left up overnight.
- If you work with a freelance engineer (anyone besides SCS Crew), you will be billed separately by them for their time (bring an extra check or cash). Payment is due at the end of a session day, if the client will not be returning the following day.
- All sound recordings, mixes, CD-Rs, drives, etc. shall remain the property of SCS until all invoices are paid in full by the client.
- Your deposit will not be refunded if the session is canceled with less than 3 days notice. (Exceptions will be made for serious illness or death, not for lack of rehearsal or money!)

We are not legally or financially responsible for items brought into or left on the premises. It is recommended that clients obtain insurance to protect against possible damage expense or loss of article(s) of value left on the premises. This includes master tapes, drives, etc. left at SCS.
